He was a businessman and community leader who was known to many simply as “Jack.” John “Jack” Buckwalter spent 64 years at Lancaster Newspapers in Pennsylvania, where he rose through the ranks and was at one time the editor. He was also the chairman of the board of Steinman Enterprises, which owns Delmarva Broadcasting, the operator of a number of radio stations in Delaware and Maryland. Their stations include WDEL-AM (1150) & WSTW-FM (93.7) in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as stations in Havre de Grace, Salisbury, Maryland and Milford, Delaware.
