Radio Remembers: KCBS newsman Dave McElhatton
Dave “Mac” McElhatton spent five decades on TV and the radio as a news voice in the San Francisco Bay-area, covering many of the area’s top news stories, including the assassination of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone, the Bay Area Earthquake in 1989 and the murder of 12-year old Poly Klass, a story that gripped the nation. McElhatton spent 25 years with KCBS-AM (740) as the morning news co-host and also as news director. He spent 25 years on KPIX-TV as a reporter and anchor. A member of the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame, McElhatton passed away from complications of a stroke. He was 81 – Discuss it.
