Radio Remembers: Philadelphia's Irv Homer
He got his start in radio when he called a suburban Philadelphia radio station so often to challenge the host, they discovered they liked him on the air. Irv Homer was one of the most beloved radio personalities in the Delaware Valley. Known as a champion of the little guy on Philadelphia’s WWDB and tireless with charitable causes, former colleague Dave Madden of KYW-AM (1060) said of Homer, “over the course of time, he became a broadcasting legend around here.” Homer passed away following an apparent heart attack.
