Radio Remembers: Tennessee's Paul Oscar Anderson; producer Sheryl Flowers
He worked for a number of stations across the country, starting as a DJ, and then moving into news and talk. His stops included Knoxville, Tennessee’s WEZK, WNOX-FM (100.3) and WKGN-AM (1340), where de developed his reputation as a conservative talker. Paul Oscar Anderson’s daughter told the Knoxville News Sentinel that “radio was his passion.” Anderson has passed away at 77 – Discuss it … Sheryl A. Flowers was the longtime Executive Producer of The Tavis Smiley Show on NPR and later PRI, and Director of Communications at The Smiley Group. Tavis Smiley said of Flowers, “Without Sheryl’s particular genius, our company’s capacity to empower listeners and viewers over these years would have been severely diminished.” Flowers passed away following a two-year battle with cancer. She was just 42.
