Radio Remembers: Tennessee's T.J. Graham; Pittsburgh's Perry Marshall

Radio Remembers He was a controversial radio talk show host who was known as the "King of Controversy." T.J. Graham hosted a show on Nashville's urban WVOL-AM (1470), which discussed topics including race relations and immigration. In his bio on the station website, Graham called himself "the most controversial man on AM," and "the King of Talk Radio." He listed as the causes he believed in, "God, Jesus and the Truth." It was widely believed that his show was the reason vandals struck WVOL on two occasions this year, including damaging the station's broadcast towers, causing millions of dfollars in damage. Graham suffered a stroke over the weekend and passed away. He was just 50 ... Perry Marshall was a legendary broadcaster who worked at Pittsburgh stations including KDKA-AM (1020), KVQ-AM, WJAS-AM (1320) & WEEP-AM. He hosted the overnight show for many years on KDKA. That station's Robert Mangano tells the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that Marshall "did overnight radio to a standard that everyone else at this point gets judged by." Marshall passed away two weeks after suffering a heart attack while on vacation. He was 86. Lots of good memories of Perry Marshall, gathering on the Pittsburgh Board of Radio-Info.com, here.
