Radio Remembers: Utah sports host Chris Tunis

He was born in New Orleans, went to school in San Diego and made his name in Utah. Chris Tunis was a pioneer in sports talk in Salt Lake City, getting his start in the 1980s with KSL-AM (1160), where he covered Brigham Young University football, and he became a fixture on the radio for both sports talk and calling the action. Recently, Tunis had been doing play-by-play for University of Utah women’s basketball games on KALL-AM (700). A seven-time Utah Broadcaster of the Year, Tunis passed away following a battle with cancer. He was just 54.
