Radio Remembers: Virginia's Seth Williamson; Cincinnati's Walt Maher
He was the host and music director of "Travelin' On", for non-commercial WVTF-FM (89.1) on the campus of Virginia Tech in Roanoke. Seth Williamson hosted several other shows, including "Morning Classics" and his weekly "Back to the Blue Ridge" music show. An accomplished musician, he was also the longest-serving full-time employee on WVTF, the station he joined in 1983. Williamson has passed away following a surgical procedure. He was 62. WVTF has more about Williamson here ... Longtime Cincinnati sportscaster Walt Maher has passed away. Considered the dean of local sports anchors, he spent over 40 years on TV. He got his start in the business at WCPO radio (1230) in Cincinnati in 1960, according to Cincinnati.com, before moving on to TV. Maher, who suffered a mild stroke two weeks ago, was 81.
