Charles Murdock was a longtime part of Cincinnati's WLW-AM (700). He was VP & GM of WLW from 1967 to 1976, and served as SVP & GM of both WLW & then-sister WSKS (96.5) from 1976 to 1981. He was also heard on the air doing editorials. Murdock passed away in Florida. He was 78. The Cincinnati Enquirer has more, here ... Cleve Mathews came to radio from newspapers, where he was editor of the New York Times and St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Mathews joined National Public Radio, helping to launch "All Things Considered." He was also NPR's first News Director. He would later leave NPR to teach at Syracuse University and Wichita State University. Mathews has died at 84, and NPR has a report on Mathews' passing here.
