Radio revenues grew 7% in fourth quarter of 2010, announces the RAB
The quarterly and full-year figures are just out, showing 7% total growth for October through December and 6% growth, total year.
For the fourth quarter: Spot revenue averaged a 7% gain to $3.747 billion. Network radio did 3% better, to $297 million. Digital grew 29% to $172 million. Off-Air improved 8% to $373 million. The "grand total" for Q4 is $4.589 billion, for a 7% increase over the comparable period of 2009.
For full-year 2010: Spot revenue grew 6%. Network rose 3%. Digital increased 24%. Off-Air improved 3%, for a "grand total" of a 6% gain, to $17.287 million. The RAB bases its revenue estimates for spot, digital and off-air on Miller Kaplan research from more than 100 markets, and extrapolates to other markets.
