Rascal Flatts, Three Country Stations Honored At CRS

Rascal Flatts The CRS Radio and Artist Humanitarian Awards were handed out Wednesday on the opening day of Country Radio Seminar 2012, which runs through Friday at the Nashville Convention Center. As previously announced, Rascal Flatts received the 2012 Artist Humanitarian award for their charitable contributions and humanitarian endeavors throughout their career.

After receiving the award, band member Jay DeMarcus remarked, “It’s a little uncomfortable to be recognized for something we feel we should be doing. We have been so blessed with an amazing career, to pay the blessings forward seemed the most natural thing to do.”

The 2012 Radio Humanitarian winners were KMOK/Lewiston, Idaho (small market); WIVK/Knoxville, Tenn. (medium market); and WLHK (Hank FM) Indianapolis (large market). The CRB Radio Humanitarian Awards are presented to full-time country radio stations for notable public service initiatives that improve the quality of life for the communities they serve.

The CRB Artist Humanitarian Award honors country artists who have exhibited exceptional humanitarian efforts during their career. Past recipients of the annual award have included Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels and Kenny Rogers, among others.
