Russ Martin could be heading back to Dallas radio
The Russ Martin Show was taken off the air in December 2008 due to the combination of CBS Radio’s 105.3 flipping format, and his arrest for domestic abuse of his then-girlfriend. Martin has been on the sideline ever since, but that may change very soon. The Dallas Observer reports that Clear Channel is in negotiations with CBS Radio for Martin’s services, and his return to radio could be as soon as July. Martin is under contract with CBS Radio through April 2011, and is owed approximately $1 million in salary. If the two sides can come to an arrangement, it’s speculated Martin could take over morning drive on Clear Channel rocker KEGL-FM (97.1) “The Eagle.” The Dallas Board of Radio-Info is always interested in the fate of the colorful Russ Martin, and the conversation is here.
