SAG agrees to renew a bargaining partnership with AFTRA
Following AFTRA’s unanimous vote to renew ties with SAG, the Screen Actors Guild voted over the weekend to resume their negotiating partnership. SAG president Ken Howard says, “Bargaining together is a smart decision, and voting up this agreement clearly serves the best interests of all SAG members.” The next order of business for SAG & AFTRA will be talks starting in October with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers regarding the primetime and feature contract. SAG has nearly 120,000 members, and AFTRA has about 70,000, while overall, there are about 45,000 members holding dual membership.
