San Diego's country KSON moves Brooks O'Brian to mornings
The new morning show on KSON-FM (97.3) will be “Cliff [Dumas] & Brooks,” as current morning host Bill Tanner announces he’s leaving radio to pursue a career in acting. Morning show sidekick Tori Peck remains as the show’s producer, traffic and news reporter. Brooks O'Brian had been in middays, and her shift will now be overlapped by late-morning host Nick Upton from 10am-2pm. Afternoon drive DJ Kimo Jensen is extended to five hours from 2-7pm. O'Brian joined KSON in 2007 as APD/MD, moving from country outlet KWNR-FM (95.5) in Las Vegas where she was PD. Lincoln Financial Media’s KSON simulcasts on North County KSOQ, Escondido (92.1).
