San Francisco’s "Wolf" KBWF becomes "SportsRadio 95.7"
Entercom debuts an all-sports format on the FM band, replacing the Country format on KBWF “95.7 The Wolf." The move follows the recent announcement that KBWF had struck a deal to carry The Oakland A’s baseball games. The new “SportRadio 95.7” will also air the NHL San Jose Sharks, which it picks up from Classic Rock sister K-Fox (98.5/102.1). The new website for the sports station is highlighting its baseball and hockey imaging, but current on air programming is stunting with play-by-play snippets of various Bay area sports teams. Th Wolf PD Mike Krinik, APD/MD Micki Gamez and the entire airstaff are out. Krinik has programmed the station since January 2010, following previous stints as Director of West promotion at Capitol Records Nashville (2005-2009) and PD at Entercom's Country "Froggy" WGGY Scranton, Pa. (1997-2005). In California, country fans toward the South Bay still have Bob Kieve's "San Jose Hot Country" KRTY (95.3). The Radio-Info.com San Francisco board is discussing the move here.Previous and Next Stories
