Seattle and New York City non-coms to share programming
The Seattle PI reports that non-commercial University of Washington-owned KEXP (90.3) Seattle, will provide music programming for New York City-owned non-com WNYE (91.5), starting March 24. The deal, named "Radio Liberation" by the two parties, means KEXP will provide 39 hours of music programming each week, including three hours of music during morning drive, followed by the KEXP morning show hosted by John Richards. In other dayparts, WNYE will air KEXP's music programs that spotlight not only Northwest artists (KEXP airs at least one NW artist each hour) but will also give NYC-based musicians an outlet. WNYE currently airs a mixture of cultural and ethnic programming. Check out KEXP's innovative website here:
