Seven stations in Meridian, Mississippi are sold, among six different operators
Clay Holladay is buying five stations, spinning two, and selling two others that he already owns.
The chain of transactions begins with five stations owned by Clear Channel. They have been recently LMA'd (leased) to Kevin Wagner of URBan Radio, and are now being sold to Clay Holladay-run Mississippi Broadcasters LLC. The stations are: #1, Country "Miss 100" WMSO, a Class A licensed to Meridian. #2, Urban AC "Kiss 104.1" WZKS, a C2 licensed to Union. #3, Black gospel WYHL, a 1-kw AM at 1450 licensed to Meridian. #4 hot AC "95Q, the Queen City's Best Mix" WJDQ, a C2 licensed to Marion. And #5, rhythmic "Hot 97.9" WHTU, a class C3 licensed to Newton.
Next step: Two of those stations, "95Q" WJDQ and "Hot 97.9" WHTU, are being acquired by New South Communications in an immediate handoff transaction.
Then: Clay Holladay's Mississippi Broadcasters LLC is selling a station he currently owns to "K-Love" and "Air 1" syndicator and station owner Educational Media Foundation of Rocklin, CA. EMF is buying hot AC "Meridian's Best Variety V93.5" WMLV, a Class C2 licensed to Butler.
Finally: Holladay's Mississippi Broadcasters is donating another station it already owns to the Meridian Community College Foundation. That is "Rock 106.9 The Buzz" WKZB, a Class A licensed to Stonewall.
Broker George Reed of Media Services Group represented Clear Channel and Kevin Wagner's URBan Radio. Here at Radio-Info.com, the Mississippi Discussion Board is talking about the various deals, here.
