Shannon Burke's return to Orlando radio, after jail, comes on WEUS (810)
Former WTKS (104.1) personality Shannon Burke has finished serving two different jail sentences (one involving a gun and his wife and dog, the other a probation violation). Now he begins his return with an entrepreneurial deal with Carl Como’s talk WEUS (810). Burke tells the Orlando Sentinel he’ll be heard on the noon-3pm daypart in a business arrangement where Como gives him the airtime, and they’ll split the proceeds of commercials that are sold. Burke says “I own the show, I also own the bulk of the commercial inventory.” He promises a talk show from a conservative point of view, but says “I doubt you will hear the words ‘tea’ and ‘party’ in the same sentence between noon and 3.” Burke spent nine years at Clear Channel’s WTKS. His new show launches next week. The Orlando Board of Radio-Info.com talks about Burke’s career and plans.
