Spanish Broadcasting System reports radio revenue down only 5%
Radio definitely performed better for Raul Alarcon in the third quarter than SBS' Mega TV operation, where revenues declined 17%. It was the SBS announcement about entering TV that tanked the stock several years ago, though it’s been growing until recently. At SBS radio, the San Francisco-market regional Mexican “La Raza 93.3” KRZZ was the only place where local revenues weren’t down compared to last year. Despite the 6% companywide revenue drop, SBS actually reported higher operating income than last year, up from $4 million to $12.3 million. Check the third quarter report here.
