Staff at Britain's The Local Radio Company bracing for job cuts and another station sale

The Local Radio Company, which owns a chain of smaller stations in the United Kingdom, is planning to shed jobs, close their head office and turn off one of their radio stations. TLRC’s main office in High Wycombe is going to be closed, and at least 20 of the 30 staffers will lose their jobs. Media Week is reporting that The Local Radio Company is in negotiations to sell Wight Radio (107 & 102), located on the Isle of Wight, to a yet-undisclosed buyer. If Wight Radio is sold, it would become the fifth station TLRC has sold since May, when UKRD tool control of the company following a bidding war for TLRC’s 21 independent stations.
