Talk host Pat Kiley files a defamation lawsuit against 2 Minneapolis newspapers
The former host of the syndicated “Follow the Money” was accused of being part of a $190 million Ponzi scheme. The problem was, his part in the alleged scheme was that he was, like others, conned by the person who was actually accused of running the scheme. However, for talk host Pat Kiley, the damage was done. The Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal reports Kiley has filed a lawsuit in US District Court against the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper, the St. Paul Pioneer Press, various reporters and his former co-host Bob Chapman for defamation. According to the Journal, Kiley “accuses the media of defaming him after the SEC named him as a Cook co-defendant in a civil action, and others of defaming him while speaking with the media and investigators.” Overall, he is asking for $42 million in damages.
