Talk programmer Drew Hayes pulls double duty for Citadel's WLS, Chicago and WMAL, Washington, D.C.
Hayes, who joined WLS (890) only in January, will succeed Paul Duckworth at troubled WMAL. DCRTV.com reports the incoming PD and the recent “turmoil regarding [the WMAL] morning show”, with Andy Parks and Fred Grandy both out. In Chicago, the Tribune’s Phil Rosenthal has a copy of the memo from WLS GM Michael Damsky: “Drew’s added responsibilities (are) a result of the company’s vote of confidence in him and a reflection of the programming strides and ratings growth WLS-AM has already experienced.”
