Tampa's smooth jazz WSJT is replaced by hot AC "Play 98.7"
The Board at Radio-Info has been reporting a Thursday night client party to be held by CBS and a likely format change, and the company springs the new format early, at 3pm today. “Play 98.7” features “today’s best hits, without the rap”, steering away from sister rhythmic “Wild 94.1.” Core artists – Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Train, John Mayer, Maroon 5 and Rob Thomas. The Tampa Board of Radio-Info.com is reviewing “Play” now.
