The 4G Network Lacks Clarity, Says A New Study
In-Stat, a marketing research firm, reported last week that a recent study of theirs shows that 75% of 1,200 consumers surveyed want the 4G network on their smartphone. The problem is that the same survey shows these consumers do not know what 4G is and who would be the best carrier for the service. Moreover, the same study reveals that a number of people who own a 3G device believe they have 4G hardware already installed in the same device. Wired.com explains the 4G confusion stems from spotty coverage throughout the U.S. combined with strong marketing by carriers with underdeveloped 4G technology. Look for AT&T, Verizon, and Apple to release 4G marketing plans to consumers starting in 2012.
