The Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame and Museum is starved for funds
The San Francisco Chronicle’s Ben Fong-Torres reports that the museum just recently held its annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony. David F. Jackson, its creator and operator, told Fong-Torres he’s spent over $50,000 of his own money over the past five years to “build and maintain the site”, which includes radio news, station history, biographies, photos and airchecks. While there is still a “a skeletal site at www.bayarearadio.org” Jackson says “without volunteers, it’s going to die.“ He also says he’d like to find a CEO "to run it and get volunteers and financial help.” And, he said, to develop a plan “to assure that these recordings, photographs and documents will be collected, stored and displayed in a manner befitting a world-class media museum.” Discuss it here.
