The BBC is now under the microscope for excessive expense report claims

A new report even cites the BBC’s Director-General Mark Thompson, who claimed more than $3,200 in expenses for cutting short a family vacation in Sicily during the height of the BBC Radio 2 Andrew Sachs phone-call scandal. The watchdog report is expected to show a charge of over $800 for BBC Vision director Jane Bennett to replace a stolen purse, a new iPod touch charged by former BBC technology chief Ashley Highfield, along with nearly $80,000 spent by BBC executives on bottles of champagne. This follows an ongoing row over bills charged to the public by members of Parliament. You can view the entire report on BBC executive expenses by clicking here.
