The BBC will launch a special radio station for 2012 London Olympics coverage
The BBC will be providing special 2012 Olympics coverage with the games set for next summer in London. To accomplish their goal of providing continuous coverage of the Olympic Games, the BBC will launch a temporary digital station to be called Five Live Olympics Extra, which will include broadcasts in the evening only, to highlight events of that day. In addition to the special HD radio channel, the BBC will also include coverage on Live 5 and 5 Live Sports Extra, as well as all-day coverage on BBC Radio Three. The 2012 London Olympics will run from July 27 to August 12.
