The FCC fines a Louisiana station for broadcasting six years without a license
While the FCC did grant KJCB-AM (770) the ability to operate as a radio station and reinstate their call letters, it slapped the station with a $13,000 fine for submitting a late license application - six years late. The Advertiser newspaper reports KJCB, which broadcasts a blend of news, talk and religious programming, was not operating for a long period due to transmitter issues. In addition, they were also in the process of moving their transmitter after they lost the lease on their antenna. Despite the fine and violation, KJCB will be allowed to broadcast once they do move, given special temporary authorization.
