"The Game" is over as GM Richard Topper is out in Houston
Gow Communications-owned KGOW-AM (1560) “The Game” has severed ties with station GM Richard Topper, who took over the sports station three years ago. Gow Communications president David Gow tells the Houston Chronicle, “As we look at the diverse initiatives we are undertaking, we just decided to go in a different direction.” Topper was involved in sales for stations in Cleveland, Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent two years in Chicago as Regional Manager for McGavren Guild Radio before heading to Houston, where he’s worked for the last 15 years. Gow says the GM position will not be replaced. KGOW recently became the flagship of Sporting News Radio.
