The Imus ratings on Fox Business are falling

Don Imus He was brought in to be the star face to the cable Fox Business Network franchise and help boost the ratings of the startup. However, since joining the cable channel, Imus' ratings on "FBN" have been heading down. The Huffington Post reports that the recent Nielsen ratings for Imus on Fox Business show 65,000 viewers in the first quarter of 2011, down 45% from the same time a year ago. The April ratings are currently down 45% from the same month a year ago. When the Imus Show launched on FBN in October 2009, it averaged 127,000 viewers. While Imus still remains a high-profile figure on Fox, other "FBN" shows hosted by Neil Cavuto and Lou Dobbs have seen ratings increases, but overall, "FBN" is still being outpaced by rival CNBC. According to the Post, during the recent government shutdown fight, FBN averaged just 61,000 viewers per day while CNBC averaged over three-and-a-half times that figure.
