The man who killed Denver talk host Alan Berg dies in prison
Bruce Pierce was a self-avowed Neo-Nazi who was found guilty of firing 13 bullets into legendary KOA-AM (850) Denver talk show host Alan Berg in the driveway of his home 26 years ago. The Denver Post says Pierce died while serving his sentence in a maximum-security Federal prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania. He was 56. Pierce was never going to see the outside of prison walls, sentenced to a 252-year term for the murder of Berg and the violation of his civil rights. It was believed that the outspoken Berg was targeted by the group because he was Jewish and for his liberal views. David Lane, another Neo-Nazi who was also convicted in Berg’s murder, died in prison in 2007. The 1988 Oliver Stone film “Talk Radio” starring Eric Bogosian was based on the Berg’s life and his assassination.
