The Memphis AAA "Pig" moves to a Channel 6 LPTV audio, while "Q" doubles up

Two changes at the Flinn Broadcasting cluster owned by George Flinn: #1, CHR “Q107.5” WHBQ, Germantown, Tennessee is adding a simulcast on Flinn’s 96.1. That’s WIVG, licensed to Tunica, Mississippi. The Memphis Commercial Appeal newspaper quotes GM Donald Biggs saying that helps “Q” extend its reach into northern Mississippi. #2, the adult alternative “Pig” format that was on 96.1 is bumped to 87.7, at the very bottom of the FM dial. That’s the audio signal of Flinn-owned Low Power TV WPGF-LP, which becomes a full-time FM station. The Memphis Board of Radio-Info is talking about the double-switch and what it means for Q and – especially – the quirky “Pig”.
