The Minnesota Timberwolves move their games to WCCO
The next question is - will there be an NBA season next year? With the threat of a lockout looming as labor issues face NBA players and team owners, the Minnesota Timberwolves announce they are leaving Clear Channel's KFAN-AM (1130), their home for all but two years since they became an expansion team in 1989, and move their games across town to CBS-owned WCCO-AM (830). It is expected that Allen Horton will remain behind the microphone handling play-by-play. The Star-Tribune newspaper reports that while WCCO is gaining the Timberwolves, they may lose the rights to broadcast the NHL's Minnesota Wild, reporting that "there is some speculation that the hockey team may move elsewhere."
