The mother of an alleged victim of Reese Hopkins calls him an "animal"
Former Boston news/talk WRKO-AM (680) midday talk host Reese Hopkins is still awaiting his fate, this time from a judge who is expected to announce bail as he schedules another trial - following a mistrial in New York City. However, the mother of the then-11 year old girl Hopkins was accused of raping is enraged at Hopkins and the courts. Speaking to the Boston Herald, she declares "He's a rapist. He's a predator and a pedophile. He robbed [her daughter] of her whole entire youth. He's an animal and he deserves to be in a cage." Hopkins was arrested in 2008, charged with the alleged rape of an 11-year old girl and with sexually abusing her 11-year old friend in 2004 while at the Manhattan home of his then-girlfriend. He spent over two years in jail ahead of his trial, and a jury in the case was recently unable to reach a verdict. Hopkins is still in a New York City jail. He had been held on a $100,000 cash and $300,000 bond. His attorney will attempt to have that bail reduced. If Hopkins were to be convicted of the charges, he faces up to 25 years in jail - Discuss it
