"The Ronnie Wood Show" is a new weekend import from England
Famed rock guitarist Ronnie Wood has played with the Jeff Beck Group, The Faces (with Rod Stewart) and since the mid-1970s, the Rolling Stones. He began fronting a weekly show for the UK's Absolute Radio in April 2010, and it has won prizes including the Sony Radio Academy Gold Award for “Music Radio Personality of the Year.” The American syndication will be handled by Premiere Networks. Premiere SVP Jennifer Leimgruber calls Wood “one of the most important
rock stars in history, and it’s a personal thrill to be able to bring
this unique, creative program to a U.S. audience.” Premiere says “from living with Jimi Hendrix to partying with Janis Joplin, listeners are treated to Wood’s inside view of the world of rock & roll, which he often illustrates by playing his guitar.” The anchor affiliate, starting this weekend, is Clear Channel’s New York classic rocker “Q104.3” WAXQ.
