There's more Oprah on Sirius XM
More Oprah Winfrey-associated experts in ways to “nourish the body, mind and soul”, that is. Winfrey’s voice is seldom heard, but the re-launched and re-named “Oprah Radio” has more of what’s in O Magazine – literally. One of the new shows is a weekly program “that brings the pages of O, the Oprah Magazine to life, featuring Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King and writer Lisa Kogan.” Other new programs include – “Better in Bed” with sex therapist Dr. Laura Berman. The Oprah Book Club, including exclusive author interviews. And Oprah Radio News Updates, hosted by Daryn Kagan, “designed to inform and inspire.” Some existing shows from the original “Oprah & Friends” that debuted on XM in 2005 continue, featuring Dr. Maya Angelou, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Bob Greene, Jean Chatzky, Nate Berkus and Peter Walsh and Dary Kagan. It’s not immediately apparent whether Winfrey’s Harpo unit and Sirius XM have renewed the three-year deal that began in late Summer 2005, worth a reported $55 million.
