Threats force Wisconsin's Randy Hopper to cancel a parade appearance
Randy Hopper is not just the owner of Mountain Dog Media in Wisconsin. He is also a Wisconsin State Senator, one of the Republicans who pushed through the bill that restricted collective bargaining for state employees. Hopper was to participate as a marcher in the annual Fond du Lac St. Patrick's Day Parade, but says "I had looked forward to walking the parade route and sharing this celebration with my family, friends, neighbors, and constituents, but I, in no way, want to put the citizens of Fond du Lac in harm's way." Hopper has been on the receiving end of death threats, including this one: "We feel that it's worth our lives to do this because we would be saving the
lives of 300,000 people. Please make peace with God as soon as possible and say
goodbye to your loved ones; we will not wait any longer. YOU WILL DIE!!!!" The Fond du Lac Reporter newspaper says police are actively investigating these email threats. Hopper owns news/talk KFIZ-AM (1450), A/C WFON-FM (107.1) in Fond du Lac, and sports
"ESPN 950" WCLB-AM in Sheboygan.
