Three format changes, as Bold Gold closes on three stations in Northeast Pennsylvania
It takes the two AMs temporarily dark, and begins simulcasting one of its own music formats on the FM. Bold Gold’s two new AMs are the former adult standards simulcast of WNAK, Nanticoke, PA (730) and WCDL Carbondale (1440). The Wilkes-Barre Times-Leader says they’re off the air following the closing from WallerSutton, and that the FM is simulcasting Bold Gold’s classic hits “River 105” WWRR. The newly-acquired FM is WLNP, Carbondale, the former “Lite 94.3.” The deal was first announced in late August. Bold Gold’s principals are Vince Benedetto, Robert Tambur and Bob VanDerheyden. The NEPA Board of Radio-Info is talking about the sale and format possibilities here.
