Tim Martz' Radio Power is asked by the FCC about a Milwaukee translator move-in
In a series of five hops, what had originally been a Beloit, Wisconsin translator at 98.9 turned into a Milwaukee (West Allis) facility at 97.9. The FCC is now asking Radio Power Inc. to document each of the successive hops made through minor change applications. It says it is investigating "potential statutory and rule violations and related instances of potential misrepresentation and/or lack of candor." Specifically, "it is alleged that the licensee abused Commission processes by effectuating a major change in the facilities of station W250BN." Last year, the FCC raised questions about Florida translator that was "hopped" toward Miami by a series of short-term moves. Read the FCC's Letter of Inquiry to Radio Power Inc. here.
