Tim & Willy Renew With KMLE Phoenix
CBS Radio has re-signed country KMLE Country 108 Phoenix morning hosts Tim & Willy to a new contract. Terms were not disclosed, but their previously contract was a two-year deal. The pair—Tim Hattrick and Willy D. Loon—are 20-year Phoenix market veterans, making them the market's longest-running morning show. The two men first met at a dinner party in 1988 when they were separately working for other stations in the Phoenix market. They became golfing buddies, began writing songs and funny bits together, and soon landed a show together on CHR KRQQ Tucson, Ariz. From there, they moved to KMLE in 1993. After a brief stint at Chicago’s now defunct country station Kicks 94.7, they returned to Phoenix for a 10-year run at country KNIX before re-joining KMLE in January 2009. They have won the Academy of Country Music Award for major market personality of the year and have been nominated for numerous Country Music Association Awards.Previous and Next Stories
