Tom Leykis Unveils a "New Normal Music" Internet Site
Leykis used to talk on the radio for a living, with a syndicated show based at then-KLSX, Los Angeles (97.1), and now he’s interested in new music – the kind he says radio “can’t afford to take chances on.” His site says “once you meet New Normal Music” online, “you’ll wonder how you’ll ever go back to anything called ‘FM’ or ‘radio.’” “New Normal Music” starts July 1 and it’s all about truly new music, featuring music that’s been created in the last 12 months. He’s taking requests and promises an opening stunt of 50,000 songs in a row. The site says “maybe one day, radio will give us a chance to do this. Until then, who needs them?“ The website, with a countdown to July 1, is here.
