TuneIn’s new “Car Mode” finds stations, on voice command

TuneIn logo no name Here is the TuneIn description of this new voice-controlled Android app: It is “the first audio streaming service to offer people the ability to listen to their favorite music, sports and news simply by speaking a command into their [properly-docked] phone or tablet.” TuneIn is the former RadioTime, now run by ex-Disney executive John Donham. Car Mode builds on TuneIn’s existing idea of getting users quickly to one of the tens of thousands of stations in its knowledge bank. Donham tells the Guardian that there’s more coming: more social networking-like features, apparently. See the “Car Mode” demo on the TuneIn site here.
