Unhappy with a demotion, Michael Savage takes his Portland affilation across town
Unhappy that Portland, Oregon’s Alpha Broadcasting-owned KXL-AM (750) bumped him from afternoon drive to evenings and replaced him with a new local news block, Michael Savage has packed his bags and moved across town. Oregon Media Central says Pamplin-owned KPAM-AM (860) will air his show live from 3-7 pm. The afternoon drive hole on KPAM came available when KXL sister-station KCMD-AM “Freedom” (970) brought over syndicated talkers Sean Hannity & Mark Levin. Hannity’s show will begin in April. Former KXGM-FM (95.5) DJ “P.K.” is getting a tryout on KXL in the 7pm slot. Savage’s last show on KXL will be on February 5.
