Vallejo, California gets a new FM station
After nearly four years of the FCC paperwork process and broadcasting on the internet just north of San Francisco’s Bay Area in Vallejo, Ozcat Entertainment, the parent of non-commercial Ozcat Radio has been given the green light by the FCC to begin testing its new signal at 89.5FM. The call letters suit the owner: KZCT. Kate Martinelli, one of the station founders tells Radio-Info, “We’re a small, local non-profit that has been on the internet for the past four years and we've been waiting a long time for this.” Ozcat Radio will include nearly 40 DJ’s “playing all different music, playing music of the community, and we’ll be involved with local events and local history,” adds Martinelli. The station’s website will include links to listen live, but also a live video chatroom and links to their Facebook group. Their signal, once operational in several weeks, will cover the northern end of the Bay Area, including Vallejo and Martinez, California – Discuss it.
