Veteran jock Chris Trane dies of heart failure at 50
Trane, born Karl Whitaker, spent many years around the Jacksonville market at Top 40 WAPE, but he also worked at stations such as Philadelphia's onetime "Z106" WZGO, Tampa's "Z98" WZNE, WKKX, Birmingham and WBBQ, Augusta. Trane most recently worked at "Magic 105.9" WXMK in Brunswick, GA. Radio-Info is told the avid sky diver had suffered a bad accident about a decade ago, which left him with some chronic pain. The North Florida Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about "Trane on the Radio" here.
