Vin Scully to return for his 63rd season of Dodgers baseball
Scully started calling baseball games for the Dodgers when Jackie Robinson was playing in their infield and the team played at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn as the "Boys of Flatbush." Sixty-two years later, the legendary Baseball Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully will add another year to his storied baseball career, officially agreeing to call his 63rd season of Dodgers baseball. Scully, who holds the record for consecutive years calling baseball games, says, "I don’t want to make a big deal out of it...But after a lot of soul searching and a few prayers, we’ve decided that we will come back with the Dodgers for next year. God’s been awfully good to me, allowing me to do the things I love to do. I asked him [for] one more year at least and he said okay.” The Dodgers also announced that another longtime great announcer and member of the Hall of Fame will be back to call Dodgers games. Jaime Jarrin, their Spanish announcer, says he will return for his 54th consecutive year of calling Dodgers baseball.
