Westwood One's MetroNetworks locks up Citadel stations in Chicago & L.A.
Westwood One will start 2011 with an agreement to provide Citadel's top stations in Los Angeles and Chicago with enhanced traffic and news. In Chicago, Citadel's news/talk & oldies WLS-AM/FM (890/94.7) will receive traffic information and reporters for traffic, along with the MetroNetworks "Sigalert" exclusive online traffic monitoring tool. In Los Angeles, Citadel's news/talk KABC-AM (790) and classic rock KLOS-FM (95.5), which already receive news services from Westwood One, will now add traffic information to their existing agreement, along with "Sigalert." Citadel Chicago Market Manager Michael Damsky says, "In the end, Metro was able to demonstrate that the information and infrastructure which it provides will best meet the needs of our listeners."
