Westwood reports Q2 revenues up about 2%, Dennis Miller affils past 300
Revenue from the Westwood-distributed news product was up, says Westwood. CEO Rod Sherwood also credits new product launches such as "Rocsi on the Radio", plus more distribution for the Rick Dees lineup, and the Dennis Miller show. Sherwood says Dennis Miller is now clearing on more than 300 stations. The April 29 sale of Westwood's Metro Networks division to Clear Channel paid down senior debt by $104 million, and now Westwood backer The Gores Group is awaiting the merger of its remaining Network business with Dial Global. Westwood forecasts a closing on that deal in the fourth quarter.
