WGN, Chicago (720) brings in Bill White as its new program director
White succeeds the sometimes-controversial Kevin Metheny, who left Tribune-owned talker WGN in November. White joined news/talk WBT-AM/FM, Charlotte (1110/99.3) in 2001 and has recently been Operations Manager of both WBT and its Greater Media hot AC sister, "Link" WLNK (107.9). He previously programmed in Pittsburgh (KDKA), Kansas City (KMBZ), Columbus (WTVN) and Hartford (WTIC-AM). White is an Illinois native, and he says "WGN has influenced me throughout my career and I'm honored to become a part of this important Chicago institution." WGN general manager Tom Langmyer says "Bill brings extensive experience and a solid track record of success in programming live and local heritage stations." The Charlotte Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about White's move to WGN here.
