What's the deal with Rover and CBS?
It appears now that CBS has put the muzzle on Rover (Shane French), who was the morning man at the company's Rock WKRK Cleveland up until Monday. He alluded in a poem on his website to the fact that he could be moving to another station, and rumors have been flying that it will be Clear Channel's WMMS. As of yesterday, Rover's website stated: "At this time the show is still under contract to CBS. They've told us we can't talk about it, nor can we discuss what the future holds, or we'll be in breach of contract." It also said, "They're also holding the website hostage, saying we can't post anything in regards to what's going on (who knows, they may even demand this post be removed). Hang in there. You'll be hearing a lot more of us very soon." In fact, today, the website simply says: "Content removed at request of CBS radio." See what the boards are saying:
