WINK-TV brings all news to Naples radio on three signals, August 2

Naples, Florida will have a new, all news radio outlet starting August 2. WINK (1290), currently airing a Fox-branded talk format, will flip to all-news, using the WINK-TV news brand. It will also be simulcast on WPTK (1200), licensed to Pine Island Center, just north of Naples, and WNPL (1460), licensed to Golden Gate, also north of Naples. WPTK and WNPL are currently all-sports. NaplesNews.com reports that the news content on the stations will be provided by the WINK-TV news team and two local newspapers, the Naples Daily News and the News-Press. National news will be provided by several sources: Marketwatch.com, Bloomberg Radio and CNN Radio News. The paper also reports that within two weeks, a major sports franchise deal will be announced for the stations. The Radio-Info.com boards have started discussing the changes here:
